The La Pochette Spring Summer 2019 collection was inspired by this season’s runway presentations. Shining brighter than ever, we saw Neon emerging as the inescapable trend for the season, animating the collections and our summer with its exciting and lively hues.
Having enjoyed a brief Instagram micro-trend moment last year the fluorescents were back in force with vibrant shades of zingy lime green, hot fuchsia and flaming orange gracing the shows of New York, London, Milan and Paris.
Just for the for the faint hearted? Think again, the trend was championed across the board, and made accessible whatever your look. We found the bright palette styled into collections from statement streetwear to retro eighties tailoring.
For those wishing to dabble in Neon, we saw not-so-subtle pops of colour injected via headwear – best seen in the oversized Marta Jakubowski sunhats in London – and elsewhere in coordinating accessories such as those seen at Fendi over in Milan.
Championing the trend for us were standout collections from Jeremy Scott and Off-White who certainly didn’t shy away from full highlighter bright ensembles which simply shouted summertime fun. Henry Holland’s House of Holland label went a step further and offered collection bursting with his typical energy with clashing neon’s all worked into a thoroughly modern, and wearable wardrobe.
The sheer flexibility of the Neon trend continued to surprise and delight with a sophisticated offering from Emilia Wickstead where volume and silhouette added to the playful palette whilst Versace delivered all out glamour with loud and proud evening wear.
We translated the trend through high impact detailing across our collection, where high visibility pops of colour lend luminous spirit to the base palette of rich Midnight and earthy tones of Walnut and Shadow found in the Anywhere Everywhere, No Excuses and Sweat Bag.
