Facemasks will be compulsory from the 15th June in the UK on all public transport to help curb the risk of transmission as people begin to make their way back to work.
Below we show you how to make your own with an old t-shirt and absolutely no sewing skills.
Key points to remember about wearing your mask safely:
// Your face mask should cover your mouth and nose made from a breathable and washable fabric, such as cotton, allowing you to breathe comfortably.
// Always wash your hands or use hand sanitiser before putting it on and after taking it off. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth at all times and store used face coverings in a fully sealable bag until you have an opportunity to wash them.
// Do not touch the front of the face covering when adjusting, or the part of the face covering that has been in contact with your mouth and nose. Once removed, make sure you thoroughly clean any surfaces the face covering has touched.
// You should wash a face covering regularly. It can go in with other laundry, using your normal detergent.
